Dark Town

Dark Town is an episodic turn-based JRPG set in the slums underneath a giant city, where gangs rule the streets and scavenging is essential to survival.

Michael Morris-O'Connor portfolio: a screenshot from Tales from Dark-Town: Homecoming. The title screen shows an industrial 3D scene, with scattered steel shipping containers. An asphalt road runs from top left to bottom right, and the scene is lit by neon signs. The title covers most of the image in block letters.

The Dark Town series are episodic 3D JRPGs made in the Dreams engine, taking place in a large mining city turned slum covering an enormous crater. A city perched 300 feet above the slums, named New Arcadia, is home to the rich and powerful. Between that and the steep crater lips, the city receives little daylight. Gangs rule the streets. Violence, negotiation, and scavenging are essential for daily survival. People also must contend with powerful psionic users and abandoned biological experiments roaming the wastes. Follow Jack Tractive, Rizzle Rex, and their closest allies as they fight to unravel the many secrets of the city.
